Pay For Taste

Pay For Taste (“we”, “our”, “the Platform”) takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. It is intended to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and App Store privacy guidelines.

1. Data we collect

Account information

When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. This is used to identify your account.

Profile information

You may optionally provide age range, city, gender, and interests to improve question matching. This is voluntary and can be edited or deleted at any time.

LinkedIn verification (optional)

If you choose to verify your professional identity, we use LinkedIn Sign In to receive your name, email address, and profile picture from LinkedIn. We use this only to mark your reviewer profile as verified; we do not post to LinkedIn or access your connections.

Questions and reviews

Content you post as an Asker (questions, photos) and grades you submit as a Reviewer are stored to operate the service.

Payment information

Payment transactions are processed by Razorpay. We do not store card or bank details. We store order IDs and payout references for accounting purposes.

Usage data

We collect anonymised event analytics (e.g. questions posted, grades submitted) via Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used. No personally identifiable data is included in analytics events.

To authenticate you and operate your account
To match questions to relevant reviewers based on profile interests
To process payments and distribute earnings
To send transactional notifications (question complete, payout sent)
To detect abuse and enforce our Terms of Service
To improve the platform using aggregated analytics

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. Third-party services

Google / Firebase — authentication and analytics. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Supabase — database and file storage. Data is stored on servers in the US. Governed by Supabase's Privacy Policy.

Razorpay — payment processing. Governed by Razorpay's Privacy Policy.

LinkedIn — optional professional identity verification for reviewers. Governed by LinkedIn's Privacy Policy.

4. Data retention

We retain your account and activity data for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days except where retention is required for legal or financial compliance (e.g., payment records under Indian tax law).

5. Your rights

Under applicable law you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based

6. Children

The Platform is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us immediately.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. We will notify users of material changes via email or an in-app notice.
